Men’s Wearhouse is an American men’s dress apparel retailer, headquartered in Texas and founded by George Zimmer in 1973. It works under a variety of names including: Men’s Wearhouse; K&G Superstores; Moores Clothing for Men; Twin Hill Corporate apparel and MW Cleaners. In 1997, the company bought – and then liquidated – Kuppenheimer chain, which was bankrupt at the time. Business Week has asserted that Men’s Wearhouse’s target market is the common man “with the neatly displayed clothes in Zimmer’s stores [being] designed to cater to the unpretentious guy who wants to do as little as possible to maintain his wardrobe.” Towards the end of 2006, the company also acquired After Hours Formalwear, which is a clothing company that specializes in black tie formalwear. It was originally rebranded MW Tux, but thereafter went under the Men’s Wearhouse brand.
